Depression

Depression occurs when feelings of extreme sadness, despair, agitation, hopelessness or helplessness last for at least two weeks or longer and when these uncomfortable feelings interfere with our daily activities like working, eating or sleeping.

Grief

When we lose someone close and dear to us, we normally experience a wide range of feelings like anger, despair, sadness, agitation etc. These feelings that we feel inside (the emotional reactions to the loss of a loved one) is what we call grief.
